1. Open this webpage: http://freenode-dev.net/sasl/sasl-xchat.shtml
2. Read the text "Alternative Configuration for SASL"
3. Download the script: sasl-lite-xchat.pl
4. Copy the script into the directory from which XChat loads startup scripts. Default location: ~/.xchat2
5. Open the script, and change EDIT in
my $sasl_user = "EDIT";
to be your registered nick.
Then change EDIT in
my $sasl_password = "EDIT";
to be your NickServ password.
